Carolyn Anita Hammond

Carolyn Anita Sutton Hammond, age 81, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Saturday, February 21, 2026. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Friday, February 27, 2026 in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Thomas Blagg officiating. Burial will follow at Powder Springs Memorial Park.

Born in Rome, GA, Mrs. Hammond had lived most of her life in and around Cobb County. She worked in Human Resources with the United States Post Office, retiring after 35 years of employment. She attended Riverside Church, and had a passion for retail shopping, and acquiring real estate for investments. She is preceded in death by her husband, Raymond Earl Hammond, in 2022.

She is survived by her son, Jeffrey (Rinda) Hammond, Mineral Bluff, GA; 3 grandchildren, Ashley (James) Taylor, Hiram, GA, Brandon Hammond and fiancé Brittany Thrasher, Powder Springs, GA, and Hannah Hammond and fiancé Avery Chandler, Douglasville, GA.
