Carole D. Privette, age 77, of Douglas County GA, gently departed this life on November 14, 2025, surrounded by her loved ones at Kimberly Personal Care Home in Dallas, GA. Born on April 10, 1948, in the charming town of Cordele, GA, Carole carried the essence of her roots-often proudly proclaiming Cordele as the watermelon capital of the world.
Carole's vibrant journey took her through the Lithia Springs and Douglasville areas, where she embraced a thriving career in accounting at Lummus Supply, following her time managing Golden Gallon Convenience Stores and working for Fowler Oil Company. Her professional life was marked by dedication and passion, a reflection of her servant's heart that extended far beyond the workplace.
A faithful member of Beulah Baptist Church, Carole poured her love into her church community. She faithfully attended Bible studies, cared for little ones in the nursery, and ensured that students at Beulah Elementary School never went home hungry while serving with the church backpack/lunch ministry. In her warm and loving home, her Bible remained open on the kitchen table, a testament to her deep faith.
Carole's laughter could light up a room, and her ocean blue eyes sparkled with kindness. She was a devoted mother, grandmother, sister, and friend, who derived immense joy from cooking for her family (best chicken & dumplings ever) and sharing her love for gospel music, particularly the Old Paths and the Gaithers. The sight of hummingbirds brought her joy, and she often delighted in the beauty of nature around her.
She leaves behind her beloved children, Shelly (Wayne) Collett of Powder Springs, GA, and Kyle (Shonna) Privette of Villa Rica, GA; her cherished sister, Sheryel Richardson of Austell, GA; five grandchildren and nine great-grandchildren, each of whom she adored deeply. She was preceded in death by her parents, Ralph and Lois Dorough, her beloved daughter, Christie Privette Gravette, and her brother-in-law, Johny Richardson.
In honor of Carole's incredible life and legacy, her family invites all to gather for a funeral service at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory on November 22, 2025, at 3:00 PM. Prior to the service, visitation will take place from 1:30 PM to 3:00 PM. Following the service, Carole will be laid to rest in a burial ceremony at Beulah Baptist Church Cemetery in Douglasville, GA.
As we celebrate a life filled with love, laughter, and unwavering faith, we remember Carole D. Privette-the best mother, daughter, grandmother, sister, and friend-and the beautiful impact she left on all who knew her. Her spirit will forever linger in our hearts, guiding us with the love she shared so freely. The family would like to personally thank the staff at the Kimberly Personal Care Home for their love and dedication to Carole. Their commitment surpassed caretaking, now we are family.
