Carl Edward "Eddie" Scealf, Jr.

Carl Edward "Eddie" Scealf, Jr., 59, of Marietta, GA, passed away on July 4, 2024. Born on December 23, 1964, in Chattanooga, TN, Eddie was known as a true outdoorsman with a passion for hunting, fishing, and collecting arrowheads across Georgia, Tennessee, and Alabama. He had a quick wit and compassion for others. Eddie liked to tell people that he was the President of the “P&H Hunting Club” (Park and Hunt). He was skillful with a bow and gun. Eddie attended Compton Elementary, Tapp Middle School and McEachern High School. He was a skilled tradesman, proficient in landscaping, plumbing, carpentry, glasswork, and painting. Eddie's hardworking nature and diverse skills were admired by all who knew him. He was everyone’s favorite handyman. Eddie was a Christian. He was saved as a teenager and baptized by his Uncle, Pastor Phil Webb in 1983. He is survived by his mother, JoAnn Scealf; sisters, Debbie and Pam Scealf; nieces, Mishaun Arrington (Brian) and Elana Brown (Justin); great-nephew, Declan Arrington; aunts Wanda Everett (Terry), Gail Scealf (Harold), Fran Arnett and Jean Thigpen (Leon); uncles John “Skeet” Godbee (Flora) and John Whitehead as well as many cousins. Eddie was preceded in death by his father, Carl Edward Scealf, Sr.; paternal grandparents, Lillye and J.W. Scealf; maternal grandmother, Frances Godbee; sister, Carla Smith and brother-in-law, Clint Smith; uncles Bob Scealf and Phil Webb; aunt Levera Whitehead; cousins Brian and Kevin Walker and John Bob Whitehead. Visitation will be held on Saturday, July 13, 2024, at 2:00 p.m., followed by the funeral at 3:00 p.m.
