Bruce Krantz, a seasoned Navy veteran and cherished family man, passed away on January 11, 2026, in Marietta, Georgia. Born on March 16, 1936, in Ludlow, Pennsylvania, Bruce lived a life defined by his quick wit, infectious humor, and unwavering commitment to his principles.
A devoted member of the United States Navy, Bruce served as a radio operator, contributing to the defense of his country. His time in military service instilled in him a steadfast character, one that was reflected in his strong conservative values and a well-informed perspective on global events. He was known for standing up for his beliefs with pride and tenacity, embodying a spirit that never relented in the face of adversity.
After marrying the love of his life in 1960, he went on to make his career in sales within the petroleum industry. He worked tirelessly to provide for his wife and four children. Upon retirement, he worked as a course marshal at the Marietta City Golf Club.
Bruce was not only formidable in his convictions but also in his passions. An avid sports enthusiast, he excelled in both golf and tennis, having honed his golf skills during his youth as a caddy at Lawrence Park Country Club in Erie, Pennsylvania. However, his greatest passion remained music. With a particular affinity for jazz and blues, he often enjoyed listening to his favorite artist, Joe Bonamassa, while playing along on his harmonica—a talent he taught himself as a child.
Surviving Bruce are his sons Bruce C. Krantz, Mark Krantz, and Michael Krantz; his daughters-in-law, Anne, Carol, and Shannon Krantz; and his cherished grandchildren: Taylor Phillips (Katie), Kaitlin, Carly Green(Dave), Sarah Mercer(Jonathan), Becca, Alyssa, Kevin, and Marie; and great-grandchildren Sam and Hollis Phillips, Brooklyn and Cade Mercer, and Evelyn Green.
Bruce is preceded in death by his wife, Alice Krantz (Merski), who was a cherished partner throughout his life, and his son, Kevin Krantz. Also, his parents, Joseph and Elaine Krantz, and his siblings: Gary, Carolyn, Ann, and Alan.
Bruce Krantz will be remembered not only for his unwavering principles but also for bringing joy to those around him through laughter and music. His legacy survives through his family, who carry on his spirit and values.
