Bobby Harold Cooksey, Sr.

Bobby Harold Cooksey Sr., 79, passed away on October 20, 2026. He was born on November 21, 1946, in Booneville, Mississippi to Hershel and Earnestine Cooksey.

Bobby was known for his dry wit and his love of a good joke. Nothing brought him more joy than making the people around him smile, and he never missed a chance to do it.

Bobby was a veteran who proudly served his country. He loved muscle cars, motorcycles, and good music. He could happily spend hours enjoying his favorite songs and reminiscing with family and friends. Those who knew him best will remember the joy he took in the simple pleasures of a great tune and good company.

Bobby was a bright shining light to his family, his friends, and his community at Ross Memorial.

Bobby was preceded in death by his second wife, Shirley Cooksey. He is survived by his two sons, Bobby Cooksey Jr. (Nikki) and Michael "Len" Cooksey (Misty), from his first marriage to Regenia Reece; his stepdaughters, Sandi and Dawn, from his marriage to Shirley; his brother, Charles Cooksey; his sister, Joyce Raper; multiple grandchildren and great-grandchildren.

Services will be held at West Cobb Funeral Home on Monday, October 26, 2026. Visitation begins at 12:30 p.m., with the funeral service at 2:00 p.m.  Interment will immediately follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park.
