Billy Eugene Wood, Sr., age 82, of Hiram, Georgia passed away Monday, September 21, 2020. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Saturday, September 26, 2020 at Sunrise Memorial Gardens, 3721 Bankhead Highway, Douglasville, with Pastor Mark Trotter officiating.
Born in Cedartown, GA, Mr. Wood lived in Austell for a number of years before moving to Hiram. He was a veteran of the United States Army. He worked in management at Food Giant and Quality Foods for 42 years before retirement. He was a member of ONE Baptist Church in Douglasville, enjoyed camping and was an avid Georgia Bulldog fan.
Survivors include: wife of 58 years, Thoma Wood; son, Pastor Billy (Shannon) Wood; 2 daughters, Shelia Wood and Cindy (Gary) Gosdin; stepson, Kent (Irene) Holcomb; siblings, Annette Pike, Brenda (DeWayne) Mayo, Bobby (Sandra) Wood, and Charles (Judy) Wood; grandchildren, Chelsea (David) Blankinship, Cayla (Adam) Browning, Madison (Stephen) Shirley, Ruthie Wood (Zachary Johnson), Jameson Wood, Charleigh Wood, David (Michele) Kerlin, Tiffany (Tony) Lankford, Jason Holcomb and Daniel (Tonya) Holcomb;12 great grandchildren.
