Billy Ray Jackson was born May 31st, 1937, to the late Grady and Roxie Jackson. He was the oldest of four children, growing up in Lowell, NC. He was a devoted husband, loving father, proud grandfather and cherished being a great grandfather also.
Bill was employed by Yellow Freight Trucking Company for 33 years, driving to many states throughout his career.
Bill had a great love for the game of golf. He played often and enjoyed his time spent on the course. Those who played with Bill will especially remember his creative approach to keeping score-a reflection of his personality, humor and ability to make even an ordinary round of golf memorable.
Bill was married to the love of his life for 65 years, Vicky Marie Jackson before her passing in April of 2024. He is survived by his only child, Daniel (Elaine) Jackson, his grandson Trenton (Chelsea) Jackson, his great grandchildren Wake and Sutton Jackson and his granddaughter and best friend Mollie Jackson. Mollie's nightly visits will be missed by all the residents and staff where Bill resided.
The family would like to express their gratitude to the staff at the Claiborne of West Cobb, the nurses at Agape Hospice and West Cobb Funeral Home, for their compassionate care during this difficult time.
