Barbara Fowler Reece

Barbara Fowler Reece passed away peacefully on September 18, 2025, at the age of 89. Born on May 9, 1936, as Barbara Emily Fowler, she was a beloved wife, mother, nana, and sister. She lived a life filled with warmth, laughter, and love.

Barbara cherished her life at the family cabin on the lake, a place where she enjoyed hosting family and friends. The cabin was a place of comfort and joy, adorned with decorations that matched the seasons, particularly during the holidays.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband James Walter Reece Sr., as well as her parents, James Allen Fowler and Mary Melinda Goss Fowler, and her sister, Mary Juanita Fowler Herndon.

Family was the cornerstone of Barbara's life. She is survived by her son, James "Jim" W. Reece Jr., and daughter-in-law, Angela Reece; her son, Jonathan A. "Tony" Reece, and daughter-in-law, Paula Reece. Barbara was also a proud nana to her grandchildren: Dylan Reece, Dayle Reece, Gatlin Reece, and Emily Reece. Her love for them was unparalleled, and she cherished creating memories with each of them.

Barbara also leaves behind her sister, Thelma Jean Fowler Fincher, and her brothers Clifford Allen Fowler and Franklin David Fowler. Their connections provided her with love and support throughout her life.

Whether it was spending tranquil days fishing with her late husband, vacationing at the beach, or simply enjoying the company of her friends and family, Barbara’s life was rich in shared experiences and treasured memories.

Services will be held graveside at Georgia Memorial Park Cemetery in Marietta on Monday, September 29, at 11:00 AM. With arrangements by West Cobb Funeral Home & Crematory.
