Barbara D. Knight, age 96, currently of Acworth, Georgia passed away Wednesday, August 28, 2024. A Graveside Service will be held at 12:00 pm on Tuesday, September 3, 2024 at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.
A lifelong resident of Marietta, Mrs. Knight graduated from Osborne High School. She retired from the Cobb County School System after 25 years of teaching at LaBelle Elementary School in Marietta. She was a longtime member of Olive Springs Baptist Church, and enjoyed spending time with family and bird watching, especially cardinals. She was preceded in death by her husband, W.L. "Bill" Knight, Jr. in 1997, and a daughter, Susan Simmone in 2015.
Survivors include: 2 Sons, Mark (Debbie) Knight, Acworth, GA, and Paul (Cathy) Knight, Dahlonega, GA; 5 Grandchildren, Daphne (Landon) Metts, Joshua Knight, Jason (Hanna) Knight, Landon Knight, and Angel Jarrard; 5 Great Grandchildren, Sydney Metts, Jensen Metts, Garrett Knight, Amelia Mae Knight, and Bankston Knight.
