In Loving Memory of Annie Louise Floyd

Annie Louise Floyd, age 89, passed away peacefully on August 25, 2026, surrounded by her loved ones, with her beloved sister, Gladys Elizabeth McCall (Libby) holding her hand.

Louise was born at home in Cedartown, Georgia, on June 13, 1937. She was one of six children born to Franklin Kennedy Davidson and Gladys Inez Davidson. Her life was one marked by love, family, faith, and countless memories that will be treasured by all who knew her.

She was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Charles H. Floyd; her father, Franklin Kennedy Davidson; her mother, Gladys Inez Davidson; and her siblings, Franklin Davidson, Dorothy Cordell, John Davidson and Clyde Davidson.

She is survived by her cherished sister, Gladys Elizabeth McCall (Libby), as well as many other family members and loved ones who will forever carry her memory in their hearts.

Louise was the proud mother of five children and two sons by marriage. She was preceded in death by two of her children, her daughter, Julie Louise Parker (Jimmy), and son, Ronald Keith Hudson (Cindy). She is survived by her daughter, Shiree Lynch (Jack); her sons, William C. Hudson (Teresa) and John A. Hudson (Leslie); two sons by marriage, Pat Floyd (Tracy) and Jimmy Floyd (Darline) and their extended families; her grandchildren, Michelle Bramlett, Aaron Parker, Heidi Parker, Jennifer Marshburn, Alicia Coefield, Jacob Hudson, Luke Hudson, Hannah Vaughan; and her great-grandchildren, Ella Templeton, Jacqueline Templeton, Jackson Rowe, Claire Parker, Mason Parker, Phillip Clark, Peyton Clark, AJ Widner, Aila Widner, Josey Coefield, William Coefield, Wayland Coefield and Constance Joy Hudson. To each of them, and to those who knew her best, she will be forever known as Granny.

Granny had a wonderful personality and a way of making everyday moments memorable. She loved going to Red Lobster, playing Yahtzee and was a faithful viewer of soap operas, which she affectionately called “her stories.” She was an excellent cook, much to the delight of her family. Her Dixies, Four-Fold Delight, Chip-o pie and pumpkin cake were legendary and became beloved family favorites.

Her life also included some remarkable experiences. While stationed with her first husband, Ronald A. Hudson, she was honored when the crew members of the USS Shangri-La voted her Mrs. Shangri-La. She was also present for the christening ceremony of the USS John F. Kennedy, creating yet another special chapter in her life.

Above all, Louise loved her family deeply. She expressed that love freely and often, never hesitating to say, “I love you” and “God bless you.” She will also be remembered for her famous coined expression, “Consider yourself hugged.” Those simple words captured the essence of her unconditional love.

Her family will miss her dearly, but they will carry her love, laughter, recipes, sayings, and memories with them always. Her legacy lives on in the generations she loved so deeply.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to the Masonic Children’s Home in Macon, Georgia, where she, her brother, and her sister spent much of their formative years.

The family wishes to extend its heartfelt gratitude to Gaines Park in Kennesaw and Seasons Care Hospice for their excellent care, compassion, and support during her final days.
