Allen Harold Russell, 95, passed away peacefully on May 20, 2026, surrounded by the love of his family. A devoted follower of Christ, he lived a life rooted in faith, kindness and confidence in the love of his Savior, Jesus Christ. Funeral service will be held on Sunday, May 24, 2026, at 2:00 PM at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta, Georgia. Burial will follow at Mountain View Park Cemetery at 3:30 PM in Marietta, Georgia.
Born on January 16, 1931, in Marietta, Georgia, Harold was raised with a strong sense of purpose and dedication that would guide him throughout his life. He was known for his steady character, generous heart and unwavering trust in God. He lived his faith daily through compassion, humility and service to others.
Harold was a loving husband to his wife June (Tumlin) Russell, who preceded him in death, a devoted father to Angela (Russell) Marcotte, and a proud grandfather to Jessica (Whitaker) West, Jared Marcotte and Nicholas West. Harold also served as an honorary grandfather to many who lovingly called him 'Pop'. His family was his greatest joy, and he took deep pride in the accomplishments of those he loved. He created a legacy of warmth, wisdom and faith that will continue for generations.
Harold found happiness in life's simple blessings: time spent with family (which included his beloved great granddogs Bailey, Sanford, Rocket, Lucy, Foxy and Reesee), meaningful conversations, and moments of quiet reflection. Whether offering guidance, sharing stories or simply being present, he made everyone around him feel loved beyond measure.
A man of enduring faith, Harold found comfort in Biblical scripture and the promise of eternal life. His family finds peace in knowing he is now resting in the presence of the Lord he so faithfully followed.
After serving in the United States Air Force, Harold worked at and retired from General Motors. He also served as a Sunday School teacher at Austin Avenue Baptist Church for many years, leading and guiding families to the Lord.
Harold was preceded in death by his parents, Allen Burton Russell and Louella Flynn Russell.
Though he will be deeply missed, his love, faith and enduring example will remain in the hearts of all who knew him.
