Willie Thackston Jr.

Mr. Willie Thackston, Jr., age 93, of Marietta, GA passed away Tuesday, October 17, 2017. Funeral Services will be held at 2pm on Friday, October 20th at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Steve Clayton and Rev. Eddie Thackston officiating. Burial will follow at Kemp Cemetery in Marietta.
A lifelong resident of Marietta, Mr. Thackston was a veteran of the United States Navy, and was stationed at Pearl Harbor when it was attacked at the beginning of WWII. He worked for the Frank G. North Chemical Company in Marietta, then retired from the City of Marietta Parks and Recreation Department after 15 years of employment. He was also a member of Bethlehem Baptist Church.

The family will receive friends Thursday evening from 4pm until 8pm at the funeral home.
