Ms. Willie Jean Murdock

Willie Jean Murdock, age 74, of Woodstock (formerly of Marietta) passed away January 21, 2016. Funeral Services will be held at 1 pm on Saturday at Austin Avenue Baptist Church. She will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Burial will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park.
Willie was born in Marietta and lived in Georgia her whole life. She was a lifelong member of Austin Avenue Baptist Church and loved singing in the choir. She was a homemaker and adored her family.
Willie is preceded in death by her husband of 56 years, Wiley Eugene Murdock, 2 sons: Wiley, Jr and Gary and her parents: Luke and Lula Atkins. She is survived by her son: Donald (Dawn) Murdock of Acworth; Daughter-in-Law: Beth; 2 sisters: Alva Townsend and Barbara Vann; 3 grandchildren: DJ (Cassie), Nicholas, Chelsea; 3 great grandchildren: Preston, Blakely and Declan.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 22 from 2pm until 6pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta.
