William Jefferson Collier

William Jefferson Collier, age 92, of Springville, Alabama passed away Thursday, January 13, 2022. Funeral Services will be held at 2:00 pm on Wednesday, January 19, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Interment will follow at Mountain View Cemetery in Marietta, Georgia.

Born in Toccoa, GA in 1929, Mr. Collier graduated from Greenville High School in 1946. He completed his Bachelor's Degree in Accounting at Furman College in South Carolina. He served in the United States Navy for 4 years during the Korean War. He moved his family from Charleston, SC to Marietta, GA where he held several accounting jobs and raised his children and grandchildren.

Mr. Collier was an environmentalist and sports enthusiast. He was an avid reader and deeply appreciated the beauty of the world that our God has so graciously given us. He was a loving and dedicated husband, father, grandfather and friend to those who new him.

He was the true definition of a "southern gentleman' and was truly the finest man we have ever known. He was preceded in death by his wife of 62 years, Jane Brigham Collier. He is survived by his son, Steve Collier and wife Belinda, a daughter, Beth Taylor and husband Mike, 5 Grandchildren and 5 Great Grandchildren.
