William Quinton Banister Sr.

Mr. William Quinton “Cowboy” Banister, Sr., age 79, of Marietta passed away Tuesday, April 12, 2011. Funeral Services will be held 11am Saturday, April 16th in the chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Interment will follow at Georgia Memorial Park. Mr. Banister was a member of the Marietta Elks Lodge and the American Legion. He was preceded in death by his wife, Essie Lorine Banister and son, Michael Banister. Mr. Banister is survived by his children, William Q. (Leslie) Banister Jr.of Gainesville, Deborah (Monte) Stroup of Rockmart and Terry (Richard) Meeks of Carrollton; Sister, Geradine Davis of Marietta; Brother, Charles (Nancy) Banister of Lawrenceville; Grandchildren, Eric Banister, Kelli Sekulow, Jeff Stroup, Karrie Mills, Andrew Deaton and Daniel Meeks; Great Grandchildren, Kristen Roberts and Christopher and Kirsten Deaton; and Great Great Grandchild, Loribeth Roberts. The family will receive friends from 5pm until 8pm Friday evening at the funeral home.
