    Teresa Royster

    July 16, 1957 - March 6, 2022

    Teresa Royster was born on July 16, 1957, in Bay Springs, Mississippi to the late Samuel and Annie Ruth Shoemaker. She was unexpectedly called to receive her crown, on March 6, 2022. Teresa was raised in Pensacola, Fl where she received her early education and completed one year of post-secondary education at Pensacola Junior College. In April 1976, Teresa gave her life to Christ. She married William E. Royster on July 3, 1976. Teresa relocated with her husband to New York after marriage in 1976 where they started their careers and family. Her first and only son, Antwon D. Royster was born April 22, 1978, and her baby girl, Tanesse Royster-Brown was born April 1, 1985. Teresa recommitted her life to Christ around 1991 and became a long-standing member of Huntington Church of Christ where along with her husband was assisting in the Education Department and regularly taught Children’s Bible School. Teresa retired from 1199SEIU where she was employed for years. Upon relocating to Georgia early 2018, she has been a faithful member of the Camp Creek Church of Christ. Teresa embodied the spirit of the Proverbs woman and had a smile that would light up a room. She enjoyed spending time with her family, being by the water, word search puzzles, tennis, and bowling. She is proceeded in death by her parents, Samuel, and Annie Ruth Shoemaker; her sisters Anita Shoemaker Allen, Evelyn Johnson, Mary Christine Hardy; brother Sam Shoemaker, Jr; brother-in-law Lawrence Feagin and grandson, Antwon Demetrius Royster, Jr. She is survived by her loving husband of 45 years, William E. Royster of Dallas, GA; son Antwon D. Royster (Donyele) of Concord, NC; daughter, Tanesse Royster-Brown (Melvin) of Dallas, GA; sisters, Josephine Hardy; Flora Ann Shoemaker, Bernice Feagin all of Pensacola, FL; brothers, John Lee Shoemaker, Charles Shoemaker all of Pensacola, Fl; Brother in law, Charles Hardy of Pensacola, Fl, grandchildren, Samiya Royster, Talia Royster, Jazzmin Watson all of Charlotte, NC; Lance Brown, Ariah Brown, both of Dallas, GA; great-grandsons, Jayceon Ghinelli and Jahkai Ghinelli; god daughter, Javonna Shorter, and a host of nephews, nieces, cousins, church family and friends.
