Roy Philip Jones

Roy Philip Jones, Jr., age 82, of Marietta passed away November 30, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Wednesday, December 3, 2014 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, Marietta with Rev. Wayne Fain and Stephen Jones officiating. Entombment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.



Philip was born in Washington, DC and moved to Georgia in 1936. He was a 1951 graduate of R.L. Osborne High School, a veteran of the United States Navy and retired from Southern Bell. He coached Little League Baseball for many years. He loved music, photography and weather.



Philip is preceded in death by his parents: Roy, Sr. and Blanche Jones and his brother, Richard E. Jones. He is survived by his loving wife of 45 years, Sarah M. Jones of Marietta; children: Philip Mark Jones of Dallas, GA, Stephen Tracey Jones of Raleigh, NC, Melody Ann Toy of Acworth, GA; 2 sisters: Ina Laura Wilson of Hiram, GA; Faye Arline Parker of Charlotte, NC; 8 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren.
