Richard Paul Stewart, age 68, of Marietta passed away on December 23, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 11 am on Monday, December 29 at West Cobb Church in Marietta with Gary Turner and Johnny Robison officiating. He will lie in state at the church one hour prior to the service. Interment will follow at 2 pm at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.
Richard was born in Atlanta and lived in Georgia his entire life. He was a veteran of the United States Navy, having served in the Vietnam War. He was a member of the IBEW Local 613 for 48 years, a member of West Cobb Church in Marietta, and was also a member of the American Legion Post 160 in Smyrna. His love in life was watching sports and he spent countless hours coaching his children & grandchildren.
He is preceded in death by his parents: Paul and Bea Stewart. Survivors include his loving wife of 45 years, Patty Stewart of Marietta; his children, Greg (Jenifer) Stewart of Acworth, Lisa (Dennis) Cepress of Acworth, Rhonda Marbut of Marietta and Brett (Lisa) Stewart of Dallas; brother, Gary (Trenie) Stewart of Smyrna; sister, Becky Stewart of Marietta; 6 grandchildren, Will Cepress, Zack Cepress, Allie Grace Marbut, Kate Cepress, Grant Marbut and Brock Stewart.
