Penny Sue Brock

Penny passed away June 21, 2020 at age 72 unexpectedly in Dallas, Georgia during a short hospitalization. She is survived by her daughter, Michelle Lee (Brock) DePlanche, son-in-law Daniel, granddaughters McKenna and Emerson in Dallas, Ga; brother, David Dollar, sister-in-law Beth (Yanow) in Jacksonville, Fl; nieces Danielle in Tampa, Fl, and Rachael in Washington, DC.

Penny was born at Naval Air Station Jacksonville, Florida in June 3, 1948 to Robert C and Ruth G (Stewart) Dollar. As a Navy family, she lived in Green Cove Springs, Fl; Guantanamo Bay, Cuba; Norfolk, Va; Trinidad, BWI; Charleston, SC; Panama City, Fl; and Jacksonville, Fl, Graduating from Paxon Senior High in 1966.

She attended Gulf Coast College in Panama City, Fl before marrying Donald Earl Brock in 1969. They lived in Panama City, Milton, Ft Walton Beach, Leesburg, and Brandon, Fl; Jackson, Tn; Homestead, Pembroke Pines, Coral Springs, Davie, and Vernon Fl, where her husband passed from ALS in 2007. She moved to Dallas, Ga in 2015 to be closer to her granddaughters. Penny spent most of her career in banking and bookkeeping, retiring from her job with the Seminole Indian Tribe when Don became ill. Most recently she was a full time Mimi and found great joy in spending time with her family and friends. She was an avid flip flop wearing, all things beach loving, painting everything that didn't move, best friend to all.

Due to the current COVID-19 constraints, a future Memorial Service will be planned. In lieu of flowers, donations to ALS, Parkinson's and Cancer Research are requested by the family.
