Pauline V. Carrow, the fourth of five children born to John W. and Lucinda Cooper of Easton, MD passed away after a brief illness on Tuesday, May 1, 2012 in Powder Springs, GA at the age of 88.
After her high school graduation, Pauline moved from Maryland to New York where she met and married her husband, Elton ‘Pete’ Carrow. She worked in a textile factory and retired from AJ Siris. Upon retirement in 1984, Pauline and Pete moved to Ocala, FL and in 1996 to Austell, GA, to be closer to her oldest daughter.
She was patient, loving, kind, and generous with her time. Consistently unselfish in counseling all generations of her family, she took great pleasure in keeping in touch with family members. She was also a loving surrogate mother and grandmother to many of her extended family and friends, sharing her wisdom honestly over the years.
Pauline loved an orderly and comfortable home and enjoyed hosting family and friends. As an avid gardener, her favorite activities were ‘playing in the dirt’ and watching her flowers grow. She also loved to shop and casino gambling—her last gambling trip was to Bally’s in Tunica, MS, in September, 2011 with her daughter, Virginia!
Pauline was preceded in death by her husband, Elton L. Carrow and youngest daughter, Sherrian I. Carrow. She is survived by her daughter, Virginia L. Green of Powder Springs; a granddaughter Chelsea V. Carrow , and great granddaughter, Alanie Phelps of Marietta; a sister, Minnie Ames of Baltimore, MD; a brother-in-law, Benjamin R. Carrow of Dublin, GA, and a host of nieces, nephews and cousins.
