Nancy Lucille McElreath

Nancy Lucille Cox McElreath, age 75, of Barnesville, Georgia passed away August 9, 2021. Memorial Service will be held at 2:00 pm on Friday, August 13, 2021 at Owl Rock United Methodist Church 5880 Campbellton Road SW, Atlanta, Georgia 30331. With a reception to follow. Nancy was preceded in death by her husband, Walter M. McElreath, Jr., daughter, Nancy L. Gregory, sons, Walter M. McElreath, III and Anthony M. McElreath; and her parents, M.C. Cox and Hassie M. Cox.

Nancy was a native of Atlanta, GA living the several years in Barnesville, GA. Nancy was an only child who enjoyed being surrounded by children. Nancy along with her husband, Walter M. McElreath II, had a full house. They had five children together. Three sons, Walter III, Anthony (Tony), and Shane, and two daughters, Robin and Nancy. She was an avid reader all her life, She also had a deep love for animals. One who she had an especially deep bond with was a Labrador Retriever named Harley. Her other likes included collecting designer purses and anything Harry Potter. Going to the mountains, was something she enjoyed with Cherokee North Carolina being a favorite spot to visit. She collected baby dolls and stuffed animals that she would share with children that came to visit.

Survivors include: daughter: Robin (Frank) Smith of Metter, GA; son: Shane (Sissy) McElreath of Barnesville, GA; 18 grandchildren and 18 great-grandchildren.
