Rev. Morris C. Colston

Rev. Morris Colston, Jr., age 81, of Marietta passed away Friday, September 7, 2012. Funeral Services will be held 10 am Monday at Temple Baptist Church with Rev. Rodney Colston, Rev. Greg Colston and Rev. Garland Odom officiating. Interment will follow at 1 pm at the Georgia National Cemetery, Canton. Rev. Colston will lie in state from 9 am until the service at the church. Rev. Colston’s family will receive friends at West Cobb Funeral Home, Marietta on Saturday from 6 - 9 pm and Sunday from 2 pm until 4 pm and 6 pm until 9 pm.

Rev. Colston is survived by his wife, Pauline “Polly” Colston, Marietta; daughter, Debbie Nix (David) of Coronado, CA and sons, Mike Colston (Carol) of Kennesaw, Rev. Rodney Colston (Robin) of Powder Springs and Rev. Greg Colston (Cindy) of Powder Springs; 9 grandchildren: David Nix, Jr., Becky Clack, Charlie Colston, Mindy Anderson, Robert Colston, Josh Colston, Alan Colston, Aaron Colston and Candace Cochran and 14 great-grandchildren.

Rev. Colston and his family have lived in the Marietta area for the past 60 years. He was a veteran of the United States Marine Corp. He was a member of Temple Baptist Church and former Pastor of the Gospel Light Baptist Church in Kennesaw, GA, Grace Baptist Tabernacle in Lenoir City, TN, Welcome All Baptist Church in Woodstock, GA and served in several other churches in North Georgia and Tennessee.
