Melisa "Sissy" Darlene Matney, age 41, of Braswell, passed away on Tuesday, January 28, 2014. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Monday, February 3, 2014, at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Interment will follow at Mozley Memorial Gardens in Lithia Springs.
Born in Austell, Sissy spent most of her life in Cobb County. She was baptized at Revival Baptist Church in Powder Springs. She was an animal lover and liked to go bowling.
She was preceded in death by her father, Rodney Matney. Survivors include her husband, James Harper; children, Austin Rakestraw and Alyssa Rakestraw; mother, Debra Lee Carbone and sisters, Tiffany Ross of Acworth, Michelle Shutley of Cartersville, Kimberly Smith of Douglasville and Nicole Bishop of Douglasville.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday, February 2, 2014, from 5pm-8pm.
