Lynn Leslie Monsalvatge

April 2, 1967 — March 13, 2016

Lynn Monsalvatge, 48, of Powder Springs, GA passed away Sunday, March 13, 2016 at Emory Midtown Hospital after a battle with stage IV, triple negative breast cancer. Lynn was born in Greenville, SC to Eva and Gary Leslie. Lynn was raised in Griffin, Georgia and graduated from Griffin High School in 1985. She met her husband George Monsalvatge while attending Georgia Tech. She graduated from Georgia Tech in 1989. She received a Master’s Degree from Kennesaw State University in 2003. She worked for Heidelberg USA in Kennesaw. For the last 13 years, she worked for The Home Depot. She was an officer in the Institute of Tax Professionals. She wrote courses and taught tax courses for other tax professionals. Lynn had a passion for knowledge and she was an awesome cook. Lynn’s passing has saddened us all, we have lost a best friend, a mother, a wife, a sister, a daughter, and a hero. Her caring personality and her selflessness have left an impact on the world much bigger than she ever thought possible. She gave more than just financially; she gave her time, passion, her thoughts, and above all her love. Even through her toughest times she still put everyone else before herself. It was truly an honor to have known Lynn and everyone who knew her personally should feel lucky. She certainly never met a stranger. She spent nearly the past ten years volunteering time with multiple children’s theatres which became one of her biggest passions. She was a huge advocator for equality of all people. She cared more about other people than herself but throughout her battle she never gave up. She was a fighter and she fought until the very end. There are endless ways to describe how wonderful and amazing Lynn was and still is. Despite her leaving this world, she has gone to a much better place with no more pain, and she will always continue to look over all of the people she impacted. Lynn’s soul was a truly great one and the world will never be the same without her. Lynn will be missed greatly and even though she is no longer with us, her love is still felt and we will continue to live for her and love as big as she did. Lynn’s legacy will be carried on through her husband George, her daughter Laura, her daughter Caroline, her parents Eva and Gary Leslie, as well as her sister Stacy Leslie and her sister Tina Leslie Fowler. Lynn’s service will be at the West Cobb Funeral Home in Marietta, GA on Saturday March 19, 2016. In lieu of flowers, we ask that a donation be made to the Winship Cancer Institute at Emory University to benefit further cancer research. https://winshipcancer.emory.edu/support-winship
