Kent Gaines

Kent S. Gaines, Sr., age 90, of Austell, Georgia passed away Wednesday, October 27, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, November 7, 2021 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. David Moore officiating.

Born in Bradenton, FL, Mr. Gaines lived for many years in Mobile, Alabama before moving to be with his son in Austell, GA. He had worked as a National Bank Examiner for the U.S. Treasury Department until retirement. He was a veteran of the United States Army, and was a member of Covenant United Methodist Church in Smyrna, GA. He was preceded in death by his wife, Evelyn Jean Gaines, and a daughter, Karen Diane Covington.

Survivors include: Son, Kent S. Gaines, Jr., Austell, GA; 2 Grandchildren, Andrew Joseph Gaines and Evan Christopher Gaines; Daughter-in-Law, Beth Jackson Gaines; Son-in-Law, Jack Covington, and many Nieces and Nephews.

In lieu of flowers, donations may be made in Kent Gaines' memory to the Covenant United Methodist Church Building Fund in Smyrna, GA.
