Joyce Hopkins Elliott

Joyce Elaine Elliott , age 73, of Marietta, Georgia graduated to join her siblings and parents in heaven on Monday, September 6, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 11:00 am on Thursday, September 9, 2021 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Keith Collins officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.

A lifelong resident of Cobb County, Joyce was a loving, kind and generous wife and mother, devoting her time, attention and making sacrifices for her son Greg, while having a successful career at Cobb EMC from which she retired in 1994. She loved and spoiled children. It was not uncommon for her to surprise children at restaurants with cash gifts. She was also generous and tender-hearted toward the homeless and those less fortunate. Joyce loved and spoiled all members of her family, especially Donnie's grandchildren whom she would dote over and brag on at any opportunity. Joyce and Donnie's romance was a fairytale where two high school sweethearts were brought together after many years by God's providence, and experiences a 23 year loving marriage. She was preceded in death by her parents, Lawrence and Rachel "Nell" Hopkins, brothers, Guy Hopkins and Lawrence "Larry" Hopkins, Jr., sister, Irene Echols and her husband, Raymond Echols, and sister, Rachel Ann Cain.

Other survivors include: Son, Greg Nelson, Austell, GA; 2 Step Daughters, Dana Rymer and Denise Elliott, both of Dallas, GA; and many Nieces and Nephews.
