Joy Christensen

Joy (Bewersdorf) Christensen, 92 of Marietta, GA passed away on August 22, 2020, surrounded by her loving family. Joy was born February 18, 1928, in Chicago, IL to Herbert and Violet Bewersdorf. Joy was predeceased by her father and mother and her husband Robert H. Christensen. She is survived by her children Gay (Donald) Schumaker (Gay passed away October 9, 2021), R Kirk (Becky) Christensen and Kim (Brett) Smith. Her grandchildren Jason (Natalie) Schumaker, Ryan (Beth) Schumaker, Hunter (Jackie) Schumaker, Katie (Dan) Mowery, and Hap (Vanessa) Christensen. Her great-grandchildren Jackson, Gavin, Paige, Maddie, Kayden, Grace, Peyton, Shelby, Hudson, and Riley.

Private funeral services will be held at 2:30pm on Friday, November 19, 2021 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA. Rev. David Smedley will be officiating. A gathering of family and friends will commence after the funeral services at 5:00pm Friday, November 19, 2021, Seven Hills Clubhouse, 432 Seven Hills Blvd., Dallas, GA. In lieu of flowers, please consider making a donation to St. Jude Children's Research Hospital in Joy Christensen's honor.
