Joan Hawkins Gilcrest, age 73, of Marietta, GA, passed away on Thursday, September 26, 2013. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Sunday, September 29, 2013, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta with Rev. Trentis “Butch” Wilson officiating.
Born in Akron, OH, Mrs. Gilcrest lived in New Lexington and Columbus, OH before moving to Marietta over a year ago. She was a retired Architect and member of the Red Hat Society and the American Institute of Architects. She was of the Methodist Faith.
Survivors include her husband, John H. Gilcrest; daughter, Dawn Griffin Cline and husband, Scott of Marietta and brother, Jerry Hawkins of Ravenna, OH.
The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Sunday from 12pm until the service.
Memorial contributions can be made to the Parkinson’s Disease Foundation.
