James Ray Potter

James Ray Potter, age 45, of Austell, Georgia passed away Sunday, December 5, 2021. A Memorial Service will be held at 3:00 pm on Sunday, January 23, 2022 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. The family will receive friends on Sunday, January 23, 2022 from 2:00 pm until 3:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Interment will be at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton, GA.

Born and raised in West Virginia, Mr. Potter moved to Cobb County, Georgia 20 years ago. He served in the United States Marine Corp for 4 years, then worked as a Contractor for the rest of his life. He was a motorcycle enthusiast, and enjoyed riding and rebuilding bikes. He also loved shooting pool and spending time with family and friends. He was preceded in death by his father, Willis Ray Potter, and a niece, Candace Christine Peck.

Survivors include: 2 Sons, Joshua Bailey (Kayanna Jane) Beckett, Hinesville, GA and James Austin Potter, Powder Springs, GA; Mother, Brenda Sue Potter, Powder Springs, GA; Sister, Tammy Christine (Harrison) Peck, Powder Springs, GA; Grandson, Grayson Bryce Beckett, Hinesville, GA.
