James "Alex" Jones

Alex Jones, age 80, of Marietta, Georgia passed away Wednesday, September 5, 2018. Memorial Service will be held at 2:30 pm on Tuesday, September 11, 2018 at Elmcroft Assisted Living, 1345 Milford Church Road, Marietta with Rev. David Jones officiating.

Born in Alabama, Mr. Jones moved to Atlanta at an early age. He was a resident of Cobb County for the past 55 years. He graduated from Georgia State University, then he retired from the Cobb County Police Department after many years in law enforcement. He enjoyed playing golf at Dogwood Country Club, and was a member of the Paulding County Senior Group. He was also a charter member of Macland Presbyterian Church. He was preceded in death by his daughter, Angela Jones, a twin brother, Guy Jones, and 3 other brothers, Penn, Phillip and Ben Jones.

Survivors include: wife of 60 years: Joyce Brown Jones and his beloved feline companion, Teddy.
