James Derrick Hicks

James Derrick Hicks, 56, of Mableton, passed away Friday, September 30, 2011. A memorial service will be held at 6:00 p.m. on Thursday, October 6, 2011, at Milford Church of God in Austell with Bishop Keith Gunter and Pastor James Cordell officiating. Mr. Hicks was the Owner/Operator of Hicks Roofing and was a member of Milford Church of God. He was preceded in death by his wife, Elaine Hicks and father, Nelson Hicks. Survivors include his children, Richard Hicks and wife, Lindsey of Acworth, Natalie Lagace and husband, Brandon of Kennesaw and Kelly Hicks of Smyrna; mother, Tommie Hobby Hicks; grandmother, Euna Mae Hobby; sisters, Trish Fortner, Joy Cox, Beth Sigman and Alinda Dover; brothers, Tommy Hicks and Robert Hicks and grandchildren, Austin, Taylor, Madison, Chase and Brayden. There will be a viewing at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory on Wednesday, October 5, 2011, from 6pm-8pm. Not only was Derrick a fair and good businessman, he was known as being a friend to all and enjoyed breaking bread and fellowshipping.
