Jaclyn Ruth Pell

Jaclyn Ruth Pell, age 42, of Marietta, Georgia and Largo, Florida passed away Friday, April 30, 2021. Funeral Services will be held at 3pm on Saturday, May 22, 2021 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory Chapel in Marietta with Reverend Jonathan Youssef officiating. Interment will follow at Cheatham Hill Memorial Park in Marietta. A memorial will also be held in Largo, Florida with details to come.

Jaclyn is the sunshine and love of our family. She would always tell us "I'm God's gift, Dyvonnda says so!" and she truly was. She loves music and dancing. Jaclyn loves Elvis, Golden Girls, and Big Bang Theory. Jaclyn is precious, funny, clever, sarcastic and a prankster. To her, the only color is pink.
Jaclyn began her time with Special Olympics at age of 6 in track and field. In Special Olympics she participated in tennis, playing in Hilton Head, South Carolina with tennis pro Van Der Meer. Throughout her time in Special Olympics, in both Florida and Georgia, Jaclyn competed in gymnastics, swimming, cheerleading, and bowling. Proudly, Jaclyn represented Special Olympics as a Special Olympic Ambassador where she worked to promote and advocate for those with intellectual and physical disabilities.

For ten years, in both Georgia and Florida, Jaclyn worked for Publix Supermarkets. Throughout her life, Jaclyn was a vital part of social clubs such as "Night to Shine," "Help Us Grow ('HUGS')," and "Me and U Abilities Academy" in Largo FL. Jaclyn and her family were founding members of "Up with Downs" in Marietta and Savannah, Georgia.
In between her involvement with everything else and meeting new friends, Jaclyn loved to travel. Some of her favorite trips include Washington D.C., London, England, Graceland, and cruising. Jaclyn loves camping (glamping) with her Aunt Joanne and Uncle Roy.
To say that Jaclyn will be missed is an understatement.

Survivors include: parents, Judy and Jerry Pell; brother, Jeffrey Pell; aunt and uncles, Joanne and Roy Thurston; Lynda and Gary Wheeler; cousins, Dyvonnda Thurston, Lindsey Youssef and Emily Stephens.
Jaclyn was preceded in death by her grandparents; Albert and Betty McBurnett; of Rome Zeddie (Jerry) and Mildred Pell of Marietta. Great grandparents Henry and Ruth (Big mama) Goddard of Rome, Elmer and Mama May Moore all from Marietta

The family will receive friends on Saturday, May 22nd from 1pm to 3pm prior to the ceremony at the funeral home. In honor of Jaclyn, please wear pink.

Jaclyn loved giving and helping others. Her organs were donated to the LifeLink Foundation of Tampa FL. In Jaclyn's memory donations can be made to help those with special needs; Marietta Kiwanis/Aktion Club, Special Olympic Cobb County SOGA/Cobb
