Jack Eugene Whatley

Mr. Jack Eugene Whatley, age 75, of Marietta passed away on Monday, October 8, 2012. Funeral Services will be held 2pm Thursday at Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church in Dallas, GA with Rev. Wilson Smith and Rev. Dennis McCoy officiating. He will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to the service.

A native of Marietta, Mr. Whatley graduated from Marietta High School where he was the only student at that time to play varsity baseball as a freshman. He was a veteran of the United States Air Force, and retired from CSX Railroad as an Engineer after 30 years of employment. He was an avid golfer, and was a member of Dogwood Golf Club in Austell and of Grace Covenant Presbyterian Church.

8 Grandchildren and 9 Great Grandchildren

The family will receive friends Wednesday evening from 5pm until 8pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta.
