Pastor Gary Lee Ledford

Pastor Gary Lee Ledford, age 62, of Atlanta, passed away January 27, 2020. Funeral Service will be held at 11:30 am on Saturday, February 1, 2020 at University Baptist Church at 1375 Fernwood Circle NE, Atlanta, GA 30319 with Rev. Carl Braswell, Dr. Darrell Hayes and Bro. Raul Velaquez officiating. Interment will follow at 3:00 pm at Rolling Hills Memory Gardens in Acworth, Georgia with Bro. Michael Stewart officiating. He will lie in state from 10:00 am until 11:30 am at University Baptist Church.
Pastor Ledford was a native of Marietta, GA spending the last seventeen and a half years in Atlanta, GA where he was the Pastor of the University Baptist Church. He also was former pastor at The Baptist Tabernacle in Thomaston, GA, former member of Mt. Arbor Baptist Church, Harvest Baptist Church and Calvary Baptist Church. He graduated from Northside Christian School formerly attended Tennessee Temple and graduated from Atlanta Baptist College. Pastor Ledford was a funeral assistant at Crowel Brothers Funeral Home, at the Peachtree Corners Chapel.
Pastor Ledford was preceded in death by his father-in-law, Fred Huey "Gene" Dennis and nephew, Army PFC, Jacob Dennis. Survivors include: wife: Linda Jean Ledford of Atlanta, GA; four children: Timothy Lee Ledford of Atlanta, GA, Stephanie (Stephen) Cofield of Alpharetta, GA, Daniel (Judy) Ledford of Dunwoody, GA and Bradley (Molly) Ledford of Auburn, GA; parents: Z.B. "Junior" and Betty Ledford of Marietta, GA; sister: Rhonda (Ricky) Gloden; nephew: Grayson Gloden; seven grandchildren: Abby, Bryce, Lexi, and Oliver Cofield, Daniel, Lily and Audrey Ledford; mother in law, Robbie June Dennis of Marietta, GA.; sisters in law, Trudy (Al) Kitchens, Resaca, GA, and Joy (Dan) Willard, Acworth, GA.; and brother in law, Tony (Renee) Dennis, Powder Springs, GA.
The family will receive friends on Friday, January 31, 2020 from 10:00 am until 12:00 pm, 2:00 pm until 4:00 pm and 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA.
