Gary Eugene Hood

Gary Eugene Hood, age 71, of Acworth passed away on Thursday, July 9, 2015. Funeral Services will be held 3 pm on Saturday, July 11, 2015 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory with Rev. Mike Stephens officiating. The family will receive friends from 1 pm until the service at 3 pm. Interment will be at 11:30 am on Tuesday, July 14, 2015 at Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.



Mr. Hood was an Atlanta native and lived with his family in Acworth since 1994. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree from Georgia Tech, worked at Eastern Airlines, and was a computer programmer with S.I.T.A. before retiring after 31 years. He proudly served in the United States Air Force and was a member of Burnt Hickory Baptist Church. Gary was a devoted husband, father, grandfather “Big Daddy” and friend. He will be greatly missed.



Survivors include his wife of 33 years, Sue Hood of Acworth; Daughter, Libby (Todd) Tucker of Acworth; sisters, Jackie (Lamar) Lynn of Braselton and Jane Tucker of Toccoa; grandchildren: Caroline and Carter Tucker and many loving nieces, nephews and cousins.
