Garland Levoyd Burson

Garland Levoyd Burson, Sr., age 65, of Cartersville, passed away Sunday, January 1, 2012. Funeral services will be held at 2pm on Wednesday, January 4, 2012, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Patrick Reed officiating. Interment will follow at Pine Ridge Memorial Park in Kennesaw. Born in Temple, GA, Mr. Burson had been a resident of Cartersville for the past 22 years. He was a retired crane operator with Atlantic Steel and was of the Baptist faith. Survivors include his wife, Barbara Burson; children, Taftene Cox and husband, Chris of Alabama, Garland Levoyd Burson, Jr. and wife, Lynda of Acworth and Christie Michele Wilson and husband, Scott of Rome; sisters, Linda Daniels of Elberton and Geraldine Wynn of Villa Rica and grandchildren, Garland Lee Burson, Heidi Marie Warren, Emily Jordan Kee Wilson, Raegan Clarissa Warren, Stephanie Abele Cox, Lindsey Caitlin Wilson and Alexie Kaleen Farmer. The family will receive friends at the funeral home on Tuesday, January 3, 2012, from 6pm-8pm. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions can be made to Parkinson's research.
