Eugene Wayne Willingham, 88, went to be with the Lord on April 29th. He was born March 21, 1923 in Charleston, IL & moved to Toledo as a teenager. He graduated from Macomber in 1942 & soon after met & married the love of his life. Together they had 10 children. Wayne was an ingenious man who could do just about anything. He held many jobs, from shoe salesman to prototype engineer & at times worked 2 to 3 jobs to support his family. For 15 years he worked as an Experimental Machinist for Owens Illinois in Toledo. In 1988, Devilbiss transferred him to Ann Arbor & so he & Dorothy moved to Manchester, MI. He retired from the EPA in 2008 at the age of 85. Besides being a devoted husband & father, he worked in the Children’s Ministries of Heritage Church of God as a Sunday School Teacher, Children’s Evangelist, & Youth Advisor. Even after moving to Michigan, he returned each week to Toledo to attend church. Wayne is survived by his children, Eugene W. (Lynda) Willingham, II of New Fairfield, CT, Sherylyne (Larry) Shogren of Marietta, GA, Christina (Walt) Jasiolek of Northville, MI, Wendell Willingham of Perrysburg, OH, Mark Willingham of Sylvania, OH, Kerry Willingham of Perrysburg, OH, Elisabeth (Rick) Dorman of Tecumseh, MI, Starla (Rob) Eisenmann of Maumee, OH, Valerie Fine of Half Moon Bay, CA, William (Donna) Willingham of Canton, OH; sister, Dora Nancy Hornack; brother, Norman; 33 Grandchildren; 25 Great Grandchildren; 2 Great-Great Grandchildren. He was proceeded in death by his wife of 68 years, Dorothy Willingham: parents, William & Grace Willingham; grandchildren, Timothy Shogren & Angela Jasiolek; & great-great grandson, Connor Shogren. Visitation & Memorial Services will be held Friday, May 6, 2011 at Heritage Church of God, 3520 Strayer Road, Maumee, OH 43537. Visitation/Luncheon at 1:30 pm & Memorial Service at 3 pm.
