Edsel Woods

Edsel L. Woods was born in Catawba County, North Carolina to Robert Woods and the late Betty Woods on October 24, 1956. On Saturday, February 25, 2017, while admitted to Northside Hospital ICU, Edsel quietly transitioned from this life. He was educated in the North Carolina public school system, served in the United States Army, and was granted an honorable discharge in July 1979. He earned a Bachelor’s Degree in Business Management from Shaw University, Raleigh, North Carolina. Edsel was joined in holy matrimony to Laura Wilson in March 9, 1990. They remained happily married until his death.
He leaves to celebrate his life the following children: Marquis T. Woods/New York; Lance Woods and Family (Lynasia and Lanche Woods)/South Carolina; and Edsel McDonald/North Carolina. He leaves to celebrate his life the following siblings: Teresa (Sister) and James Harper (Brother-in-Law), Romelo (Nephew)/Chattanooga, TN; Robert L. (Brother) and Priscilla Woods (Sister-in-Law), Laloya (Niece) and Robert (Nephew)/Goldsboro, North Carolina; Frederick (Brother) and Gloria Woods (Sister-in-Law), Frederick Dewayne (Nephew), Jeannette (Niece), and Gabriell (Niece)/Kennesaw, Georgia; Larry Woods (Brother) and Tyrekj Woods (Nephew) /Kennesaw, Georgia; and Gregory Woods (Brother)/Newark, New Jersey.
Edsel Woods will be laid to rest at Georgia National Cemetery for Veterans, Canton, Georgia. Services will be conducted at 12:30, Thursday, March 2, 2017.
