E. W. (Bill) Allen III

September 14, 1944 — October 16, 2020

E.W. (Bill) Allen III, age 76, of Dallas, Georgia passed away Friday, October 16, 2020. A Memorial Service will be held at 3pm on Friday, October 23, 2020 at the Dallas First Assembly of God, 64 Holder Road, Dallas, GA 30132.

He was born September 14, 1944 in Greenville, MS to parents Ralph F and Muriel (Titus) Allen. Bill had two brothers, Ralph Jr. and Titus both precede him in death.

He is survived by his wife, Pam (Abrams) Allen; 2 children, Justin Allen and Michael (Leslie) Bowman; grandchildren, Linsey Boyd (Ricky) Davis, Caylee Boyd, Kelsi Boyd, Whitney Bowman (Brent) Helton, and Collin Bowman; great grandson, Rory Davis; and many other close friends.

First and foremost, Bill loved God, Jesus, and the Holy Spirit. Bill and Pam attended worship services as health allowed and they were members of Mount Paran North Church of God in Marietta, GA. He was active in the beginning years of Tres Dias of North Georgia. After moving to Dallas, they enjoyed fellowship at Dallas 1st Assembly of God. For the past four years, Bill was also active in a men's Bible study through West Ridge Church. His friends in the study group were a wonderful wellspring of support and encouragement to him. As time passed, his relationship with God continued to deepen. Bill finished his race with a calm sense of peace.

Bill's second greatest love was for his cherished wife, Pam. They were blessed with 42 years of marriage. Meeting in Clearwater, FL, they married and moved to Georgia where they eventually made their home in Dallas.

Bill's children and grandchildren were a great source of satisfaction. The heartfelt pride that he had for Justin and Michael spilled over onto the extended family. Many friends became family, since Bill had a way of adopting those who desired a relationship with him. He fully accepted all, no matter if blood, marriage, or friendship bound them. Each were blessed and addressed with the treasured name of Son, Daughter, Grandson or Granddaughter, whether born into the family or not.

Bill took tremendous pride in having fought for his country from February 1964 to February 1968. During the Vietnam War, Bill served in the U.S. Air Force as an Aircraft Radio Repairman. He achieved the rank of Sergeant. He donated to worthy causes that supported the military until the end.

For hobbies earlier in life, Bill enjoyed flying planes and gliders, riding motorcycles, boating, swimming, and more recently, reading and enjoying God's Word.

Bill was employed as a Field Engineer and Systems Analyst in the computer industry after his time in the U.S. Air Force. He then became an educator at ITT Tech. Following his tenure there, he earned his Master of Science, Information Design and Communication from Southern Polytechnic State University. at the age of 62, he was the eldest to graduate with a Master's degree in their class of 2011.

Bill's fondest desire was for all to have knowledge of, and relationship with, his Lord and Savior, Jesus Christ.
