Donald E. Cox

Donald E. Cox, 80, of Powder Springs passed away Wednesday, April 13, 2011. Memorial Services will be held 4:00p.m. Sunday, April 17, 2011 in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory with Reverend Cindy Blocksidge officiating. A native of Indianapolis, Indiana, Mr. Cox moved to Cobb County over 30 years ago. He retired from Lockheed Martin where he worked as an Engineer and was a 25 year veteran of the United States Navy. Mr. Cox was a member of the Powder Springs First United Methodist Church, Kiwanis Club and was an avid golfer. He is survived by his wife, Barbara Cox of Powder Springs; Children, Donna Stevens of Noblesville, Indiana, Cheryl Hancock of Jupiter, Florida, Mark and wife, Lisa Brewer of Orlando, Florida and Diana and husband, David Garten of West Palm Beach, Florida; 5 Grandchildren, 2 Great Grandchildren and Beloved Dog, Sophie. The family will receive friends in the Dogwood Room at the funeral home Sunday evening from 2:30p.m. until 4:00 p.m. Donations can be made to the Lost Mountain Golden K. Kiwanis, C/O Marie Cetrulo, 3613 Spring Beauty Ct., Powder Springs, GA 30127 to benefit the Calvary’s Children’s Home and the Murphy Harp’s Children’s Home, and C.A.M.P.
