David A. Baer, age 69, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away Tuesday, September 6, 2022.
Born at Keesler Field Air Force Base in Biloxi Mississippi, Dave then resided in Rome NY and Rochester NY. After graduating from high school he followed in his father's footsteps and enlisted in the Air Force. His 20 years in the service included assignments in Alaska, Belgium, Oklahoma, California, South Carolina, and Florida. After his retirement from the Air Force he was employed by Trane in Atlanta for 20 years.
After retirement Dave found a new "home" at the American Legion. He spent many happy hours cooking and baking for his friends at the Legion in Powder Springs GA as well as entertaining them with his singing and humorous stories. He will always be remembered by his friends for his kind and generous heart.
Dave was predeceased by his parents, Ray and Relda Baer. He is survived by sisters Alice Baer (Tim Baroody,) Susan Mattice, and Janet (Rod) Foote, plus "sister by choice" Wendy Hess; ex-wife and good friend Connie Baer; a niece, nephews, and many good friends including those at American Legion Post 294.
Dave will be inurned at the National Cemetery at Canton GA on November 10, 2022 at 12:30. There will be a get together to share memories and celebrate his life on November 12 at 5:30 at Legion Post 294 in Powder Springs
