“If there were two biscuits on a plate, and only that, Brother Sammy would pray and ask the Lord which biscuit to eat.”

The world lost a devout man of prayer and a faithful follower and servant of Jesus Christ on Friday, January 19th, 2018. Pastor Sammy Hall, as he was known to so many, made his safe arrival home and into the loving arms of our Savior shortly after midnight after a hard-fought battle with a rare form of pneumonia.
Claude Samuel Hall III was born on October 13, 1954. He was saved at the age of nine and announced his call to ministry at the age of twenty-six. Pastor Sammy was ordained to serve his first church at the age of thirty-seven. While pastoring, he continued his work as an employee of Cobb EMC where he retired after thirty-four years. He was known to others as a gentle and sincere man, but most notably as a man of prayer.
For most of his adult life, Sammy loved and served others through his role as a Senior Pastor. Though his time spent at various church revivals may have been among his most favorite, he was known and loved behind the pulpit at several local churches. He served faithfully as Senior Pastor at Mt. Tabor Baptist Church in Taylorsville; Welcome Grove Baptist Church in Marietta; Oak Grove Baptist Church in Cartersville, and was currently serving as founding and Senior Pastor at Salacoa Creek Baptist Church. The very unusual and unique church building at Salacoa Creek is a result of Pastor Sammy’s idea and a design which he credited to the Lord. The eleven plus acres of land on which the beautiful church sits was donated as a gift by Pastor Sammy and his wife, Tracy.
His sixty-three years here seem far too short for those he leaves behind: his wife of thirty-nine years, Tracy Hall; his sons Troy Hall and his family of Dallas, GA, and Isaac Hall and his family of Acworth, GA; his grandchildren, Charity, Jacob, Levi, Addison, and Emma; his twin brother, Tony Hall of Dallas, GA; his older sister, Sheila Girgenti of Canton, GA; his younger sister, Tami Ingram of Temple, GA; his younger brothers Samuel Hall of Gaffney, South Carolina, and E. J. Hall of Dallas, GA; as well as a number of nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his parents, Claude Samuel Hall Jr. and Edythe Lorene Kenney; his brother, Michael Hall, his sister-in-law, Debbie Hall, and his nephew Scotty Dodd.

Anyone wishing to bring food for the family, may do so during visitation or the day of the service.

In lieu of flowers, and as Pastor Sammy and his family’s request, donations may be made to the building fund of Salacoa Creek Baptist Church. Please include “In memory of Pastor Sammy” on the memo line of checks. Donations may be mailed to The Building Fund of Salacoa Creek Baptist Church, 210 Hood Street, Calhoun, GA 30701.
