Charmian Virginia Haueter

April 16, 1925 — March 18, 2017

Born to James Arthur and Leola Faye Jennings on April 16, 1925, in Prairie City, Iowa, Charmian Virginia Jennings was a good student and a hard worker on her parent’s farm in Mitchellville. The capable woman that we know as Virginia Haueter graduated from Iowa Lutheran College as a Registered Nurse in 1945. She had secretly married Robert Leroy Haueter before graduation. A Marriage that spanned 69 years gave the couple 4 children; Susan Lee in 1948, James Robert in 1949, Judith Ann in 1952, and Gay Lynn in 1957.
Virginia was a dedicated mother, helpmate, and church member. Her devotion to the work of Trinity United Methodist Church in Jackson, Michigan was legendary. When asked she said once that she “was born Methodist”. Her quiet commitment to her faith brought her husband back to his Christian convictions. Together, they worked tirelessly to make a loving, caring home. No one ever left Virginia’s home without the offer of a meal and friendship. She continued her church work after moves to Marietta, Georgia, and Anderson, South Carolina.
Her loves were family, food, and volunteering at church. She was preceded in death by her son, James Arthur and her husband Robert Leroy. She is survived by her three daughters, Susan Horlick, Judith Kindschy, and Gay Lynn Toth. Grandchildren; Kristen Horlick, Amy Horlick, Brett Horlick, Bradley Kindschy, Lisa Kindschy, Lori Lloyd, Amanda Van Hoose, Robert Haueter, James Caudle, Katie Toth, and Daniel Toth. Great-Grandchildren; Eric Van Hoose, James Turner, Jasmine Haueter, Harper Kindschy, Graham Kindschy, Alayna Lloyd, Tristan Caudle, and Liam Caudle.
