Catherine N. Key

July 15, 1948 — November 21, 2021

On Sunday, November 21st, 2021, Catherine Nell Key,
loving mother of three children, passed away at the age
of 73 from natural causes here in Marietta, GA.

Catherine was the first born to Harlow and Mary
Clark. The daughter of a military family, she grew
up on army bases around the world. Fascinated by the
colors and cultures of the Orient, she grew to
have a life-long appreciation for Chinese and
Japanese artistry. Catherine attended the University of
Georgia where she obtained a Master's degree in Education.
She became an educator for Cobb County schools teaching
at Dowell Elementary and Lost Mountain Middle School for
over 25 years before retiring in the early 2000's.

She was a lover of animals and owned many cats and a
dog who were blessed by her care and compassion. They
were her greatest companions and she always did her
absolute best by them. She was a strong-willed woman with
an endless capacity for compassion and the patience to rival
any saint. She was an advid reader who adored science
fiction, futurism, and the exotic.

She was married to Jim Key from the mid-80's into the early
90's, and had three sons - Steven, Eric and Bret. Having
lost Bret in 2020, she is survived by her sons Steven and
Eric Key, her brothers Walter and Gary Clark, her sister
Janet Clark, and her godchildren who she thoroughly loved -
Edwin and Sophia Crossley.

A memorial service for her will be held at her home on
Sunday, December 5th, 2021 from 11 am to 6 pm at
256 Sherbrook Court NW, Marietta, GA 30064. All who knew
and loved her are encouraged to attend. Please contact
Steven Key at 919-523-4235 for questions.
