Carolyn Denise Jackson

Carolyn Denise Jackson, age 66, of Powder Springs, Georgia passed away June 27, 2021. Funeral Service will be held at 11:00 am on Saturday, July 10, 2021 at Bethesda Cathedral of the Apostolic Faith in Decatur, Georgia. Interment will be held at 1:00 pm on Monday, July 12, 2021 at Pleasant Grove Church Cemetery in Athens, Alabama.

Sister Carolyn Denise Jackson was born February 26, 1955 in Madison, Alabama to the late George and Lucille Noble. Though her siblings totaled eleven, only six remain earth side. They are George Willie Noble (Elizabeth) of Harvest, Alabama; Roy Lee Noble of Madison, Alabama; Gregory Noble (Jennifer) of Minot, North Dakota; Marcus L. Noble (Vivian) of Phenix City, Alabama; LaTeta Jackson of Knoxville, Tennessee and Angela Lovelady of Huntsville, Alabama.
Carolyn majored in Special Education and Elementary Education, graduating Summa Cum Laude from Tennessee State University in 1975. She met and married a fellow TSU Tiger, Edward N. Jackson and two beautiful daughters, Kimberly Michelle and Cynthia Rochelle solidified this union. The family expanded when both daughters married their respective husbands, Dr. Melvin Glover and Mr. Jesse Poche'. Kimberly blessed the family with two daughters, Cassanova Cyn and Aeneas Nyc. Cynthia blessed the family with three sons Ajani Malik Jackson Harris, Elijah Sangoro Poche, and Jesse Otieno Poche.
Carolyn was bestowed with many talents that segued her into being a teacher; not only in the Davidson County School System in Tennessee, but also in the Sedgwick County School System in Kansas. Her skill sets led her to be a Contract Property Administrator for DCMA (Defense Contract Management Agency) for 36 years. Carolyn was also a House Mother at the “Market Street House” in Kansas. She helped to transition those with intellectual disabilities into homes, group homes and jobs. Many days and nights Cyndi would sit right beside her mom at the home. So it's not ironic that her oldest daughter Kim works in a similar background today.
In 2009, Sister Jackson partnered with her daughter Cyndi in Bella Acts. The innate compassion Carolyn had for people was the inspiration behind the name. She utilized her sewing skills to make colorful and creative masks during the beginning of the pandemic. "Ma Bella" was the name affectionately given to Carol. Her legacy lives on in the breath of her daughters.
Carolyn's faith and love was well known and practiced. At the tender age of nineteen, she was a consistent and participatory member of the Pentecostal Assembles of the World. Initially, she and her family served under the pastoralship of W.W Harris (Nashville) and in Wichita, Kansas under the leadership of Pastor Dorcus Vann. Her final church home was Bethesda Cathedral of the Apostolic Faith, Inc. (Decatur, GA) with the Bishop duo of father and son, Bishop Stewart Reese, Jr. and Suffragan Bishop Stewart Reese III. She worked faithfully in the Christian Education Ministry of the church teaching Sunday School every Sunday in the Beginners’ class and Vacation Bible School every summer.
Her brother-in-law, Brady Edmondson of Charlotte TN; two sisters-in-law, Delores Modunkwu and Tommi Ochi, both of Nashville TN; aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins, friends, co-workers and the church family at large will miss her compassion, wisdom, dry sense of humor, smile, laughter and overall being. Though we grieve, we know that this is not a loss, but an extra covering of Carol’s strength, love and faith.

The family will receive friends on Saturday, July 10, 2021 from 10:00 am until 11:00 am at Bethesda Cathedral of the Apostolic Faith in Decatur, Georgia.
