Bobby Eugene Anderson

July 22, 1947 — December 22, 2013

Bobby Eugene Anderson, age 66, of Powder Springs, passed away on Sunday, December 22, 2013. A memorial service will be held at 12pm on Thursday, December 26, 2013, in the Chapel of West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory, 2480 Macland Road, Marietta. Inurnment will follow at 2pm at the Georgia National Cemetery in Canton.

Bob, aka “Ricky” (because he always says, “’Ricky’ is short for Bob…”) was the first born boy to Eugene and Martha Anderson on July 22nd, 1947 in Griffen, Ga. He was a graduate of R.L. Osborne High School of Marietta. After his graduation in 1966, Ricky was drafted into the Army, January 1968. With his ability to type 104 words per minute mistake free, he was quickly sent to Okinawa as a SP 5 Administrative Specialist to the General stationed there during The Vietnam War. After his service to our country was over in 1972, he came home to Marietta and was introduced to his future wife by his sister Joy. Sandra Fay Hamilton Jackson was a single mother of two (Gregory Allen Jackson and Rebecca Emily Jackson). He instantly fell in love with “S.F.” and her two beautiful children. They were married on November 21st, 1973. Their son Brian Richard Anderson was born in April, 1977. He spent the majority of his working career with Lance Inc. where he was the District Manager over North Ga. for the last 15 years of his 28 total years of dedication. After retirement, he decided to give more of his time to his beloved Country by being selected as the Commander at the American Legion Post 294 of Powder Springs in 2011, where he and his wife have been members for more than 10 years.

Ricky was “The Real Deal!” He loved his Country, his wife, his children, his grandchildren, and his great grandchildren. He also loved his “Bravos” (the Atlanta Braves) and baseball in general. The model husband and father, never quick to temper, always willing to hear the whole story before making his decisions, and never more than a phone call away from giving you the shirt off his back. He had a heart of gold and the soul of an Angel. He has touched every person who has ever known him by simply showing his love and passion for life with his very hands off, silent, I lead by example, take on life and love. Bobby… Bob… Ricky… RickyAndyBob… Dad… Paw Paw… will surely be missed and never forgotten!

Survivors include his wife, Sandra Anderson; children, Gregory A. Jackson of Powder Springs, Rebecca E. Clubb of Bremen and Brian R. (Christina A.) Anderson of Hiram; sisters, Joy Stevenson of Marietta, Merry Gossett and Frances Cook both of Sunnyside; grandchildren, Melissa Cobb, Summer Aldridge, Tara Cobb, Payton Anderson, Brady Anderson and Lily Anderson and 4 great-grandchildren.
