Betty Jean Slayton

July 24, 1926 — June 21, 2014

Betty J. Slayton, age 87, of Marietta passed away on Saturday, June 21, 2014. Funeral Services will be held 2pm on Wednesday, June 25, 2014 at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta with Rev. Milford Ballinger officiating. Interment will follow at Kennesaw Memorial Park in Marietta.



Mrs. Slayton and her family moved from Kansas to Georgia 61 years ago. She worked for many years at Sears on Roswell Street and was a former greeter at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory. She was also a former Manager at Cobb County Voter Registration. She is a member of the Marietta First Baptist Church.



Survivors include her loving husband of 70 years, Millard W. Slayton, Sr., Marietta; children: Earl Slayton, Acworth, Tooter (Camille) Slayton, Marietta; grandchilden: Tim Slayton, Dallas, Melisa (Kenneth) Westmoreland, White and Jennifer Baldwin, Woodstock; great-grandchildren: Kendyl and Kristian Westmoreland, Jamie Daniel, Jordan Chumley and Addy Baldwin.
