Vanessa Fernandez

On Wednesday, October 2, 2013, at 3:19pm, Vanessa Fernandez, my wife, best friend of 20 years, and mother to our most wonderful son, Christiani, passed away. She fought for 7 years 1 month and 2 weeks exactly with her Stage 4 Breast and Bone Cancer. Seven long hard Years with Stage 4 and not once did she say "I can't" or "I Quit" even in pain she would tell people it hurts only when she thought about it....So she never thought about it.

For those who know Vanessa knew she never backed down from a challenge. She never asked for help from anyone. Heck she wouldn't even let me cry....

She was an inspiration to all she crossed paths with. She was a mentor to many kids at Kennesaw Mt High School NJROTC. She wanted to accomplish 3 things before this day came since it all started in August....

1 - Come home (done 9/16/2013)
2 - Sleep in own bed (not done because we sleep on the second floor)
3- Leave a Legacy.....

Well we can make this happen......
She would like to have a scholarship started in her name to a member of the KMHS NJROTC who has faced obstacles in life and never quit or backed down.

Please help make this a reality......there is no goal but we want to continue this fund; pass this on to friends, family, businesses, co workers, and heck why not the celebrities.....help Vanessa help others and let us never forget.

A celebration of her life will be held from 1:30pm until 4pm on Sunday, October 6, 2013 at the Church of our Redeemer in Marietta. The family will receive friends Friday from 4pm until 7pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta. Online guest book @ www.westcobbfuneralhome.com .
