Vada Gertrude Melton

Vada Gertrude Melton, age 88, of Mableton, GA passed away on Friday, February 14, 2014. Funeral Services will be held at 11am on Monday, February 17, 2014 at Concord Baptist Church with Rev. Richard Wilkins officiating. Interment will follow at Barber Cemetery in Mableton. She will lie in state at the church 1 hour prior to the service.



A native of Waco, GA, Mrs. Melton moved to Mableton in 1953. She worked as a seamstress at Hubbard’s Textile Factory in Bremen, and worked as a crossing guard for the Cobb County School System. She also enjoyed volunteering in the gift shop at Cobb General Hospital, and serving as a Cub Scout Den Mother. She was preceded in death by her husband, Lacy Melton.

2 Sons: Perry Melton and wife Gloria, Powder Springs, GA

Stan Melton, Acworth, GA



2 Brothers: Curtis Miller, Smyrna, GA

Winfred Miller, Waco, GA



4 Grandchildren: Hillary, Jeremy, Nathan and Caleb



3 Great Grandchildren: Victoria, Taylor and Colton
