Troy Maxine Smith

Troy Maxine Smith, age 81, of Cedartown, Georgia passed away January 20, 2018. Funeral Services will be held at 3:00 pm on Tuesday, January 23, 2018 at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Powder Springs with Rev. Lamar Rackley officiating. Interment will follow at Pleasant Hill Baptist Church Cemetery in Powder Springs, Georgia.

Born in Dalton, GA in 1936, Mr. Smith moved to Cedartown in 2005. He was a member of Pleasant Hill Baptist Church in Powder Springs, a United States Air Force Veteran and he retired from Gulf Oil in Atlanta as a local tank truck operator.

He was preceded in death by brothers Kell and Willard and a sister, Pauline.

Survivors include:
his wife, Barbara Shutley Smith of Cedartown, GA;
daughter, Tracy "Eddie" Smith Cosby of Powder Springs, GA;
2 grandchildren, Brandy "David" Cosby Griffith of Anniston, AL, and Troy Lee "Erin" Cosby of Powder Springs, GA;
great grandson, Raymond Alan Griffith of Anniston, AL;
sister, Lyla Jordan of Dalton, GA;
brother, Odell "Betty" Smith of Dalton, GA;
mother-in-law, Myrtle Shutley of Hiram, GA;
sister-in-law, Debbie Shutley of Hiram, GA
and several nieces and nephews

The family will receive friends on Monday, January 22, 2018 from 6:00 pm until 8:00 pm at West Cobb Funeral Home and Crematory in Marietta, GA. and Tuesday at the church from 1:00 pm until the funeral hour.
